President Ahmed Sillanyo Sends Condolences To Ethiopia

Hargeysa, Somaliland, August 25, 2012 (SL Times) – President Ahmed Sillanyo sent condolences to the people and the government of Ethiopia regarding the passing away of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi.
In his message, President Ahmed Sillanyo described prime minister Zenawi as a person who had an impact on African affairs in general , and on the Horn of Africa in particular.
President Ahmed Sillanyo also signed the condolences registry at the Ethiopian mission in Hargeysa, Somaliland.
Mr Ahmed Sillanyo went on to say Ethiopia is the biggest country in the Horn of Africa, and Somaliland has good relations with Ethiopia which were forged during the days of the liberation struggle. Furthermore, he stressed that Somaliland will continue on that course of having steady and excellent relations with Ethiopia.
The Ethiopian prime minister died of an undisclosed illness at a hospital in Belgium.
Deputy Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn, is now the acting prime minister.
